Some U.S. consumers participated in a 24-hour buying boycott on Feb. 28, targeting all economic activity—especially major retailers—as a way to show politicians that everyday consumers can control the economy.

The blackout was organized by The People’s Union USA and was its first action, described as “a symbolic start to economic resistance, a day where we show corporations and politicians that we control the economy,” per the group’s website.

Consumers were instructed to not shop online, or in-store, and not to spend money on gas and fast food. They were also advised not to use their credit or debit cards for non-essential spending. The People’s Union website made a point of noting that consumers can buy “necessary” essentials including food and medicine, …

Rockstar’s Grand Theft Auto VI took home the “Most Wanted Game” award at the Golden Joysticks this week, and in an acceptance speech, a developer teased “absolutely mind-blowing things” to come from the game.

“There’s an incredible amount of people doing amazing things on Grand Theft Auto 6. Absolutely mind-blowing things so it’s a real honor to be able to come up here and accept this award on everyone’s behalf,” the developer said (via Rockstar Intel).

GTA 6 winning the award for most-anticipated upcoming game is no surprise at all given the incredible amount of hype surrounding the game, which is set for release in Fall 2025. GTA 6 is also nominated for the Most Anticipated award at December’s The Game Awards.
